Send Christmas Cards for Festive Cheer
Happy 1st December everyone! Are you sending out Christmas cards this year? Apparently, exchanging cards remains as popular as ever in this digital world.
You may think that nowadays we would revert to social media or email to send out festive greetings. However, a new survey by Royal Mail finds we still believe sending and receiving Christmas cards is the best way to share some festive cheer. Nearly 80% of us want to receive a traditional card rather than a e-card.
Here are some interesting facts from this latest survey:
- Over 1.13 billion Christmas cards are bought in the UK every year
- We each send on average 18 Christmas cards to friends and family
- Digitally savvy 18-24 year olds are more likely to send traditional Christmas cards than e-cards.
- 70% of us like to hand up our Christmas cards to form part of our Christmas decorations.
- 85% of Christmas cards are bought by women.
Over 900 million Christmas cards are sold in boxes and packs and a further 100 million single Christmas cards are sold in the UK. Charities in the UK estimate that around £50 million if raised for good caused thanks to the sales of Christmas cards.
