Looking Ahead to 2015
Starting to make plans for 2015? Planning ahead is something that many of us contemplate at this time of year as we start to add dates to all those diaries, calendars and planners.
Making note of that annual leave entitlement and hoping to make best use of the time available to make plans for holidays also needs to factor in public holidays of note. In 2015, Easter Sunday falls on Sunday 5th April with the preceding Friday and following Monday welcome days off wok for most of us. The May Bank Holiday is on Monday 4th May next year whilst the 25th May is the Spring Bank Holiday. The Summer Bank Holiday is on Monday 31st August in the forthcoming year.
A new arrival to the royal family is due in April next year. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second child around the time of their wedding anniversary which is on 29th April. William and Kate’s second baby will be fourth in line to the throne behind Prince George.
7th May 2015 has been set as the date of the general election to decide who will be the next prime minister of the United Kingdom and George Osborne has already announced that he will deliver his last budget of the Parliament on 18th March – so it would be advisable to keep calculators to hand that day!
Some notable sporting events which are always eagerly anticipated include The Grand National and Wimbledon. Aintree’s most anticipated race takes place on 11th April and the tennis stars including Andy Murray will be serving up some matches to savour at the All England Club for two weeks from 29th June. Meanwhile the best in horticulture will once again be on display at Chelsea Flower Show between 19th and 23rd May.
Notable film releases expected to be big box office hits in 2015 include the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator Genisys (3rd July), the next installment of James Bond starring Daniel Craig in Spectre (23rd October) as well as Star Wars (Episode VII) which is set to appear on the big screen from 18th December.
