An Insight Into The Office Of The Future
A recently issued report predicting the way our workplaces will look in years to come has provided a fascinating insight into how our lives will change.
Driven by rising energy and transport costs as well as concerns about sustainability and the environment, the futuristic office we might expect to see one day may not be that far away either.
Just as we now all take for granted the use of email which is deemed as a necessity in everyday office life, predictions have been made that the not-too distant future equivalent may well be the holographic representation of people.
Not only that, but as drones become more widely used in every aspect of our daily lives, these ‘multicopters’ are expected to become common place in the workplace too. Drones are expected to take on the role of humans and deliver the hot drinks rounds of tea and coffee plus snacks and sweets right to each person’s workstation!
But of course, on the face of it that might mean we then do not get the vital exercise we need on a daily basis, even if it’s making the round of drinks to get the blood flowing. But this might be alleviated by the use of walking workstations which might become a common sight too. That’s because it is claimed that treadmill desks can significantly boost workforce productivity and enhance memory recall.
Also on the cards may well be the notion of a suburban village where everyone would ideally work within walking distance of their home. Though for that to be a reality we may well be looking a little further to the future.
The underlying notion of the workplace of the future is one what will ‘cultivate community’ with more open space that will encourage open minds.
Only time will tell but these are all fascinating insights into how the office of the future may well look.
