Do Stamps Have an Expiry Date?
Stamps that do not have a monetary value on them do not expire. For example, this stamp above only depicts the class of stamp (1st class). Therefore, it can be used indefinitely and will be sent by Royal Mail on a first-class service.
Where a stamp does include a monetary value, it also does not expire. However, to ensure it is delivered on the correct service according to the required class and weight, it may need to be combined with other stamps to make up the value of the postage required. Fixed Price Stamps enable you to ensure your letters and parcels are sent at the correct postage price.
Should I Send Valuable Items or Money by 1st or 2nd Class?
The Royal Mail recommends sending these items by a Special Delivery Guaranteed™ service. By using this service, you can claim compensation in the event of loss or damage.
Money should be packaged securely and not be visible from the outside of the envelope or packaging. The Go Secure Envelope range of strong, lightweight polythene envelopes is the ideal choice for sending such items and will also help you to save on your postage costs.
