Happy Birthday Princess Charlotte
Princess Charlotte is two, today. Over the Bank Holiday weekend, a new photograph of the young princess was released showing that she really is growing up fast.
The new photograph was taken by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, a keen amateur photographer. It features the adorable young princess in a yellow cardigan with blue sheep detailing, taken at the family home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
Incidentally, the cardigan the princess wears is from John Lewis and it has already sold out. Even at this young age it would appear that the young princess, just like her mother, has a keen fashion sense.
A statement from Kensington Palace said:
“The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this photograph as they celebrate Princess Charlotte’s second birthday.
“Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank everyone for all of the lovely messages they have received, and hope that everyone enjoys this photograph of Princess Charlotte as much as they do.”
Princess Charlotte was last seen in public at Christmas, attending church with her parents. In this latest picture, the fourth in line to the throne shows a startling resemblance to her great grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, and also her older brother Prince George.
A Weekend of Celebration for the Young Royals
It has been a weekend of celebration for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on Saturday 29th April.
Today, they will throw a birthday party for Princess Charlotte to celebrate her becoming a toddler.
Royal Collectibles Marking the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their Family
Over the past six years, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have provided the nation with so much joy. In 2013, the birth of Prince George was marked with this Commemorative Prince George Stamp Cover.
Time flies and it only seems like yesterday that we were celebrating the wonderful news of the birth of Princess Charlotte. For fans of Royal memorabilia, the Princess Charlotte Gold Plated Commemorative Medal and The Royal Birth 2015 Silver Proof £5 Coin, produced to mark her birth on 2nd May 2015, are a wonderful way to remember this occasion.
