Even Celebrities Can Go Potty For Crayons
It has been revealed that Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, who plays the character of Ron Weasley in the series of Harry Potter fantasy movies, has an additional talent to add to his bow. As well as recognised an accomplished actor, we have learnt that Rupert is also equally passionate and creative with crayons!
Rupert Grint came to prominence having starred in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and then gone on to also appear as Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as well as most recently Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
As Harry Potter’s best friend at Hogwarts, Ron Weasley is portrayed as a fun-loving member of an ancient wizarding family in the highly successful film series which is the highest grossing collection of movies of all time. And now it appears that Rupert himself is a somewhat of a wizard himself when it comes to another art form.
We learn that Rupert loves to carve sculptures out of crayons which he actually started to do to help pass the time on the set of the Harry Potter films. He claims to be able to create crayon sculptures of just about anything too with a baby squirrel and a creation of Harvey Keitel’s head amongst his greatest achievements to date.
We are intrigued to hear that amongst this crayon creations in the pipeline are a sculpture of comedian Ronnie Corbett so watch this space!
But as well as indulging in his love of crayons, Rupert is also preparing to star in what he hopes will be yet another box office hit with the release of ‘Postman Pat – The Movie’ later this month, an adaptation of the popular classic children’s tv series in which he is cast as ‘Josh’ alongside Jim Broadbent as the SDS CEO and Stephen Mangan as Postman Pat himself.
