The Prince Charles Special Stamps collection is a celebration of the incredible milestone of His Royal Highness’ 70th Birthday. Since leaving the Armed Forces, Prince Charles has played a monumental role in becoming an ambassador to the Monarchy within the United Kingdom. He is also at the helm of an extensive network of charities, both within the country and abroad. He now reaches the age milestone of 70 years as the longest-serving Heir Apparent in history and will become the future Head of the Commonwealth.
1st Class – Portrait of HRH The Prince of Wales
Depicting the most modern of portraits taken of His Royal Highness, the first of three 1st class stamp designs features a close-up shot of Prince Charles adorned in one of his blue pinstriped suits. With a background consisting of colourful foliage and an array of vibrant plant life, this exquisite stamp design captures The Prince of Wales looking at his proud and regal best, away from his royal uniform and formal duties.
1st Class – HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall
Taken outside the beautiful setting of their current home known as Clarence House, this wonderful stamp design draws on a wonderful, affectionate moment between His Royal Highness, Prince Charles and Her Royal Highness, Camilla Parker-Bowles. With their arms placed upon one another’s shoulders, this heartwarming photograph encapsulates the happy personal life that the Royal couple share.
1st Class – HRH The Prince of Wales with HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH The Duke of Sussex
This brand new and previously unseen intimate photograph of His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales with both of his sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, sees all three Royal family members dressed in their full military uniform. Taking time outside of their Royal duties for a spot of leisure, this £1.55 stamp design once again pictures The Prince of Wales and his sons, Prince Harry and Prince William. This time, they feature in the more casual setting of Cirencester Park Polo Club in an image first captured in 2004. Caught in the moment of reacting from a humorous joke, this scene helps to express the more gentle and lighthearted side to the Prince of Wales when amongst his Royal sons.
£1.55 – The Prince of Wales at the Castle of Mey
Steeped in Royal tradition, the Castle of Mey in Caithness, Scotland provides an idyllic backdrop for the penultimate stamp in this series. Standing in front of the traditional brick and stone walls of the castle, His Royal Highness poses proudly amongst the beautiful Scottish countryside. This setting provides a poignant and significant insight, as the Castle of Mey was originally owned by the late Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth.
£1.55 – HRH The Prince of Wales greets school children during a visit to Llancaiach Fawr Manor
The final design in this fascinating celebratory stamp series is a photograph His Royal Highness, Prince Charles’s visit to the Welsh estate of Llancaich Fawr Manor in 2017. Captured in this moment is the wonderous spirit and patriotism of the United Kingdom, as a large group of school children wave their flags of Wales as the Prince of Wales greets and speaks with them during his time spent there.
