A Game Of Ages – How Spending Habits Changed

It’s well known that different generations are likely to have different opinions, but did you know that they also have different spending habits? An article from Sainsbury’s Bank looking at how the spending habits of Baby Boomers, born between the mid-1940s and the mid-1960s, Generation X, born until the end of the 1970s, and Millennials, born until the mid-1990s, differ from each other.

Each generation brings something unique to the UK and their differing experiences growing up are in turn likely to impact their spending habits. Millennials, with the influence of technology and the internet, are likely to be very different to Baby Boomers, who grew up during the era of the Beatles.

The below infographic from Sainsbury’s Bank shows the differences between the different generations towards both saving and spending. It is truly a game of ages?
