It’s Official! LEGO® Is The Greatest Toy Of All Time
What’s your greatest toy of all time?
The distinctive LEGO® brick was recently voted as the top toy, eclipsing even Monopoly (voted second) and Action Man (voted third).
Nominated by the bosses of some of the biggest game companies, results of the survey celebrating all the great toys both now and in the past, prove that even in the age of electronic computer games and the iPad, LEGO® has lost none of its appeal.
Experts at the top 100 toy making companies were each asked to name their top three toys of all time (and not able to vote for their own toys of course).
First introduced to the world way back in 1949, LEGO® was the brainchild of a Danish carpenter called Ole Kirk Christiansen who started making wooden toys in his native Denmark before he then began producing colourful interlocking bricks made from cellulose acetate we all instantly recognise today as LEGO® pieces.
The success story of LEGO® has seen the brand evolve from merely classic brick pieces to a global brand with an expanded product range which sees billions of parts produced and distributed worldwide. What’s more, the longevity of the LEGO® brand has been further complimented by the series of LEGO® theme parks now in operation around the world as well as release of the LEGO® movie which captivated young audiences.
Here at the Post Office Shop, we’re delighted to be stocking a range of LEGO® stationery products including Star Wars themed mini-figure ball point pens featuring Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Yoda and a Stormtrooper.
This is complemented by the selection of LEGO® Friends items available here at the Post Office Shop which includes a ring binder, ruler and mini journal which depict the five main characters in the LEGO® friends range; namely Olivia, Stephanie, Emma, Mia and Andrea.
