Epson Inks Go Letterbox Friendly
Print specialists Epson has launched a new range of EasyMail Epson Ink Cartridges. Letterbox friendly, the packaging has been designed to fit through your door. So, you don’t have to worry about not being home when the postman knocks.
The First Letterbox
It wasn’t until the 19th century that letterboxes became a common sight on British front doors. In 1849 the Royal Mail encouraged households to install letterboxes to aid the delivery of mail. Until then, letterboxes were only found in the doors and walls of post offices.
Today, the standard size for a letterbox is between 230-280mm wide and 325-400mm tall. This size allows for a C4 envelope size package to be delivered without bending, and to a depth of 40mm.
With more and more of us ordering goods online, suitable packaging for our mail is a big issue. This is not just for consumers but for the postman and couriers too.
Businesses See the Benefits of Being Letterbox Friendly
Our previous article Make an Impression with Your Packaging emphasised the importance consumers place on professional and appropriate packaging. In particular, many people are left frustrated by excessive or wasteful packaging.
Until recently, letterbox friendly packaging was limited to items such as books, CDs/DVDs, jewellery and small items of clothing. However, packaging innovation is moving swiftly on. Chocolates, even bouquets of flowers can now be posted in a box.
Remarkably, earlier this year a UK startup business, Garcon Wines, announced plans to launch the first letterbox friendly bottle of wine. The bottles have the same 750cl volume as a standard wine bottle yet have been flattened and lengthened so they can fit through your letterbox. This incredible invention won the company a £20,000 cash prize.
The new Epson EasyMail multipacks combine high quality, vivid ink cartridges with an innovative packaging solution. By removing the excess plastic packaging normally associated with ink cartridges they reduce waste and provide a convenient way of delivering ink through your letterbox.
EasyMail Packaging keeps the contents secure whilst being small enough to post through most letterboxes. The outer packaging is produced from recyclable, lightweight brown cardboard with a simple tear open seal.
