BBC Children In Need 2015
Just like last year, the Post Office and Post Office Shop are proud to support BBC Children in Need. Once again, everyone is being encouraged to be a hero and buy exclusive Be A Hero badges for BBC Children in Need.
Two bespoke designs of the ‘Be A Hero’ badge are available in branch priced £1 each or sold online in packs of 10 at PostOfficeShop.co.uk. All proceeds (less VAT) will go to BBC Children in Need which is currently supporting around 2,444 projects in the UK, guaranteeing that every penny received will be delivered directly to disadvantaged children and young people.
Peter Andre was one of the celebrities to show their support for Be A Hero in 2014 and it is no surprise to see him excelling as one of the celebrity contestants in Strictly Come Dancing where he is starring with professional dancer Janette Manrara in the biggest and best dancing show on TV. And this year another celebrity who has also appeared on the current series of Strictly Come Dancing is amongst the famous faces supporting the Post Office’s Be A Hero campaign, namely Ola Jordan.
Ola Jordan and Olympic athlete Iwan Thomas were the first couple to be eliminated from this year’s competition but the long serving professional dancer has been swiftly transformed from her ball gown costumes to become a superhero for the Post Office Be A Hero for BBC Children in Need campaign.
Without doubt, we can all expect to have a ball when BBC Children in Need once again appears on our screens. A Strictly Come Dancing special will be just one of the many highlights of the telethon which will be hosted by Terry Wogan who has presented the show every year since 1980.
Last year, the annual telethon for BBC Children in Need raised a record £32.6m for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. In total, £49.1m was raised for BBC Children in Need during 2014.
And this year the BBC Children in Need Appeal night will be hoping to eclipse this figure when it takes place this Friday 13th November. What is certain is that we’ll be having fun raising monies for BBC Children in Need thanks to a whole host of famous celebrities who will provide a fun filled evening of TV entertainment.
